19-Year-Old Girl Forced To Defend Herself After Posting These Two Selfies On Instagram (Photo)

A teenager has been forced to issue a statement about her make-up after people accused her of being dishonest with her looks. Victoria Katei, 19, is a student of psychology and biology in Dallas, Texas. Last week she posted two selfies to her Instagram showing what she looks like with and without make-up. Victoria captioned the pictures: “Me being cute vs. me being cute.
She issued a statement via her social media account.. Read below;
“Recently it seems like so many people have something to say about the way I look with or without make or about the fact that I don’t post pictures without makeup. “Accounts have been posting pictures of me with makeup versus no makeup telling me I’m a catfish and that I’m hideous.
“People in the comments telling me to kill my self because I’m lying about my looks. “Telling me that no one will love me because I’m so ugly and have to wear makeup to cover my “real face”.
‘And as this has happened I learned what people say about you has so much more to do with them as a person than it does you as an individual. “First I want to clarify: I love the way I look in makeup and out of makeup.
“I don’t wear makeup to hide or to “catfish” people because I don’t give a sh** what any guy or girl has to say about how I look. “And I’m not going to lie it gets to me, some comments are so vile they make me cry but I always remind myself that I’m more than my looks.”
She later issued a heartfelt statement on Instagram, saying she had been forced to do so because she was “tired of trying to explain herself in the comments”.
She wrote: “I’ve been sitting here trying to debate whether or not to disable comments on my last post and I realized there is no point. “People who want to say something are going to say something.
“So many people are saying that my foundation doesn’t match and that I’m trying to appear light skin but if you look at my chest it does. “My face matches my chest and you can tell there is no foundation there because I have acne scars.
“And if you look at my recent pictures you’ll see my face matches my body there as well. “For those of you who are uneducated, you are supposed to match your foundation shade to your body and not your face.
“Different lighting affects how light/dark complexions appear and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that. Anyways that is all.”
